Volunteer With Us
Volunteers form the foundation of our work at Hope + Me. The success of our activities, events, programs, and projects depends on the dedication of individuals like you. The diverse experiences you bring significantly benefit our participants.
By volunteering, you will have opportunities to connect with new people, develop meaningful relationships, and contribute to positive change in the lives of others. Comprehensive training is provided to ensure volunteers are prepared to assist individuals effectively.
Some Of Our Volunteer Roles Are:
Telephone Information and Peer Support (TIPS) Volunteer
We provide a warm and friendly ear to individuals who are all in for support through their diagnosis.
Group Facilitators
Our group facilitators coordinate and lead our peer support groups across Ontario. They are invaluable in helping to create the safe spaces our participants look for. We provide the necessary Peer Support Training required to become a facilitator.
Community Engagement Committee
Committee members are responsible for designing display materials, planning activities, and organizing community events throughout the province. The role also includes conducting research and attending events to assess their impact on the community. Volunteers participate in initiatives such as William’s Run for Hope and the virtual Run for Hope.
Peer Talk Volunteer
We have speakers who use their lived experience with mental illness to present their stories to audiences around the province. These volunteers meet regularly to help improve their presentations and gain confidence.
Administration
We cannot do the work we do without the support of our volunteers. Working at our Hope + Me office in Toronto, our volunteers provide work on data collection, program evaluation, desktop publishing, database maintenance, and creating and editing materials used by the organization.
